Gothic Arches - Asian

This week the challenge at Gothic Arches is “Asian”.
My images come from Mary Marta, and I used a torn piece of paper that I thought looked Asian. I used a pink cardstock and added just a touch of black around the edges to tie in with the black in the images. The butterflies are only attached by the centers so the wings give a 3-D appearance.
Thanks for stopping by for a look and I would love to read your comments.

Crazy Amigo - Birthday Card

This week the theme at Crazy Amigo is "Free". Create whatever you want.

A friend ask me for a special birthday card and this is what I came up with yesterday. The background paper is a lite yellow with a very pale design on it. I added a little Distress Ink in Antique Linen and then I used a gold glitter pen around the edges. The parrot image is from Altered Pages and it is a transparency and I like the way the yellow worked as a background for this one. I used a green ribbon from Memoryvilla.com and added a yellow and orange on top of that. The birds and butterfly are from K & Co. I generated the text and printed that on a darker yellow and added Distressed Ink in Spiced Marmalade to the edges.

Thanks for taking a look and I would really like to read you comments.

Send Love Today Card

I just finished this card and wanted to get it posted. I will be sending it off on Monday to a lovely young lady in WA.

The background paper is from Creative Imaginations, designed by Marah Johnson. I have used GunMetal Glitter Glue on the bird and Blue and Lavender on the felt swirl. I also used Distress Ink in Faded Jeans on the swirl to give it a little color. The button at the top of the page says "Dream Big". I have also added a small bird button above the swirl. Here is a blow-up of the button:

Thanks for looking and I would love to see your comments.

4 x 4 Friday King or Queen

This week for 4x4 Friday the challenge given is:

This weeks theme is Kings and Queens! Be sure to use a king or a queen on your 4×4 creation! Use your creativity with this one!:)

I wanted to take a different approach this week so here she is my Queen Bee. The background is a metallic purple which I added a little Tattered Rose Crackle Paint from Tim Holtz and while the paint was wet I added a bit of lavender glitter. The bee is a stamp from Stampers Anonymous and I painted it with H2O's so it is sparkly too. The crowns are from Maya Road, painted with a Silver from Ranger and they have a bit of glitter also.
Hope you like my different take on this one. Thanks for taking a look and I would love to see your comments.

I made this for a lady in my office that will be leaving as of Monday. She has been with the company for 25 years - that just seems like such a long time to be in one place. The small flowers and leaf are from Prima and I added a little silver glitter with a glitter pen from Jelly Roll. I used a green ribbon with a pink and brown ribbon on top. This is one of my favorites.
Thanks for looking and let me know what you think with your comments.

Send Love Today Card

Our theme this week was selected by our hostess Louise Granlund and she has created this beautiful arch depicting her heritage. What comes to mind when you think of your heritage?

SLT Cards

I finished both of these cards last night to send to my friends with Send Love Today. I enjoy doing these cards so much because I know it brings a bit of a smile into their day to receive a little card from someone that cares. Even though we all started as strangers and we all live in much different places, I feel very proud to say they are my Friends and I support them all in their journeys.

I was looking though some die-cuts and found this butterfly and thought it looked very Springlike. The paper and butterfly are from K & Co. I took glitter glue in Fruit Punch, Yellow and Lime and outlined the butterfly and attached it with foam adhesive for a 3-D look. The ribbon I used is a orange fading into a yellow. I then added all the works, from 7 Gypsies and used a silver glitter pen around each one.

I have made this card before, but this time I added the car, plane and little train. I painted each with a different color of Crackle Paint, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans. The paper and paint are from Tim Holtz. I added glitter pen accents on the railroad track and on the train. I also added a grey and red ribbon to the top and bottom of the card. I cut a second train and attached with the foam tape for the 3-D effect.

Peace Card

A friend recently ask me to make a card with Peace on the front and this is what I have put together:

The Background paper is from ChatterBox, and the other piece has been sprayed with a mixture of Worn Lipstick Distressed Re-Inker, water and a metallic powder. You really can't see the shine with the scan, but it's there. The letters are Grungeboard from Tim Holtz embossed with Distressed Embossing Powders Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint. I cut out the butterflies from Vellum and the larger butterfly is a sticker from K & Company.

Skinny Saturday Child of Grace

I made this Skinny tonight for the Saturday Skinny Challenge of using this poem for your inspiration:

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

I would love you to use the inspiration from this poem and incorporate this into your Skinny.
I have chosen Tuesdays Child Full of Grace:

The background paper if from Flair, the image is from a collage sheet from Altered Pages and I matted it on a piece of tan paper. I added a line of gold glitter around the picture, hard to see on the scan. I used a rose colored ribbon with a green on top of it.
Thanks for looking and please leave a comment.

Theme Thursday Paris

This week’s theme is “Paris”! I put this together this 4 x 4 tonight, but I'm not very happy with it -

This one didn't scan very good, but there is gold glitter pen on the flower paper that spells Paris, pink glitter pen outlining the flower paper and silver glitter pen outlining the picture. I thought the picture looked like lovers in Paris. The flower is a very delicate sepia colored lace with a pink jewel in the center.

Thanks for looking and please leave a comment.
