Sketches Challenge #41

The sketch this week at Sketches by Tamara was for a round card and since I have never done anything like it I thought it would be a good challenge for me. Here's what I ended up with. The pattern paper is from Cosmo Cricket - I used the lighter side as the base and the reverse side for the panel in the middle. I used a brown and pink ribbon on each side. I added Cinnamon glitter glue to the floral design and some flowers by Prima . I matted the pink Cherish on a brown paper.
Thanks for looking.

A friend asked me for a Vintage Mother's Day card and this is what I came up with. The base card came as a white embossed card and I used Distressed Inks in Antique Linen and Tattered Rose over the embossing to bring out the design. The image is from Altered Pages and I matted it on a brown and then a green cardstocks. The flowers are two layers, the bottom are from Bazzill and the top lacey ones are from Prima. I added a jewell brad to each. The sentiment is computer generated on vellum.

Thanks for looking, now go make something special for a special person in your life.

Zentangle - Zodiac Animals

I did these four Zens for a swap at Doodlers Haven. This is the first of three different swaps and when your done you will have all twelve Chinese Zodiac Animals. This is really my first attempt at something like this and I really enjoyed making them. I was taking them with my pens to work each day and I worked on them at lunch time. I can't wait to do more of them.
Thanks for looking and I always like to read your comments.

Mother's Day Card

The cardstock background is from Prisim and the pattern paper is from BasicGrey - Sultry collection. I cut around the flower design so that I could insert my image, from Mary Marta printed on a transparency. The ribbon along the edge is a green with a pink and white on top of that. I added Glitter Glue in Fruit Punch and Green to the flowers. The sentiment is computer generated on pink vellum and I cut two small hearts from the vellum also.
Thanks for taking a look at my cards. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Send Love Today

I made these two cards over the week end for my friends at Send Love Today.

This first one is for Emily - when I saw the cutest pink elephant I just had to make a card with it. The paper, elephant and heart are all from BasicGrey Sugared collection and the buttons are from Foof-A-La. I added pink and copper glitter glue to the elephant and pink and green dots at the top using Glazing pens from Sakura.

This is for my friend Diana. The background is a cardstock in Rust, patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket - Fleuriste collection, image from Altered Pages, the flowers are from Prima and the lace is just from my stash. I used Distressed Ink, Tea Dyed on the lace to give it a more vintage look. Bubble letters spell out "Friends". The small brown flower is from BasicGrey - Sugared collection.
Thanks for looking.

Artsy Girlz - Ribbon

The challenge at Artsy Girlz this week is to use - Ribbon

This is a card I am sending out for Send Love Today. I made little bows with a crystal on each one. The hearts are felt from Fancy Pants and I put a little glitter glue on each one. I also stitched a border around the whole card - not happy with the way that came out, but since Emily in only 4 I don't think that will be her main focus

Send Love Today - Dora

This month one of the friends I will be sending to is Emily, she is 4 years old and has brain cancer. In her Bio they mentioned that she liked Dora the Explorer, so here is a card and tag I did for her.

I used a pretty pink paper from BasicGrey and added Dora Stickers, a pink and white ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and I used my Quikuts for the letters cut out of a purple cardstock. I made the pocket for the tag with matching paper, tore the top edge and edged it with Fired Brick and Antique Linen Distress Inks. I attached the image in a diamond fashion and printed Paris Fashion on each side of the image. Gothic Arches - By The Sea

This week the theme at Gothic Arches is "By The Sea” and our hostess this week is Nellie van Leeuwen who came up with this beautiful arch and challenge. What comes to your mind when the sea is mentioned? Bathing along the beach? Lighthouses? Nautical? Whatever the vision may be we want to see it here in gothic form

When I think of the sea I think of Lighthouses -and for this challenge I got to use one of my favorite StampScapes stamps - Light, Rocks & Waves. I stamped on Glossy cardstock with Staz-On Black Ink and then used many blues and purples from Marvy Inks. I layered the clolors lightest to darkest and to get the white in the waves and rock I scraped off the colored inks. I added a bit of yellow for the light in the windows. I layered that piece on a piece of navy cardstock and added just a little glitter around the edge with a silver glitter pen.
Thanks for looking - Hope you like it.

Sympathy Card

This is a sympathy card that I just finished this morning for my sister-in-law.

The background is a medium purple to which I have added the stained glass window, Altered Pages, Ribbon, 3-D Butterflies and pearls, both from K & Co. and a computer generated sentiment printed on a medium green cardstock. The window is printed on a transparency so that the purple background shows through.
Thanks for taking a look and please do leave a comment.

4 x 4 Friday Oriental

The theme this week at 4x4 Friday is Oriental. Hope you like my little Panda.

I took a 4x4 of white cardstock and sprayed it with a glitter mist that I made with Distressed Re-Inker Dusty Concord and little gold Pearlx powder and water. I added the gold and purple paper, stamped my Panda, from Inkadinkado, with Black Staz-On Ink and painted with H2O's. I just used a little black to accent his outline and some green on the leaves. I added the Panda by running a piece of paper through a Dynamo embosser.

Arty Girlz - Triangles

This week at Arty Girlz the theme is Triangles and here is my take on that:

LOVE TRIANGLE

I cut the paper so that the flaming heart was at the bottom and then mounted that on a piece of brown cardstock. The two lady images are from Altered Pages and the guy is from Art Chix. I added a red ribbon, red buttons and stamped LOVE in red. The alpha stamps are from Paper Artsy.
