Think Monday Think ATC

The theme this week is:

This week is all about the African continent.

For this ATC it used a green cardstock from Bazzill with a little Tea Dyed ink along the edges. I stamped my image, from Paper Artsy, on a very light yellow cardstock with VersaMark ink and then sprinkled some different colors of Distressed Embossing powders over the image. I used Weathered Wood, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, Tea Dyed and Antique Linen. I stamped Africa with Pearlized Choc added a irridescent ribbon and covered the piece with Diamond Glaze. The other letters are Crystal Stickers.

Card and Tags

This card is for Send Love Today:

As soon as I saw this paper from Tim Holtz, I knew just what I wanted to do. For the background I cut out the lower right corner of the paper, then I took another piece of paper and cut out the train. Using pop dots I placed the cut out over the background for a 3-D effect. I used brown twine at the top edge and around the green section of the card. The stopwatch and tickets came from Mini-Ephemera Clip Art CD from Design Originals. I used Diamond Glaze on the face of the watch so it lookes like glass. I used a Silver Glitter Pen from Jelly Roll on the train tracks and as accents on the train.

I made these tags for a Retreat that Memoryvilla.com will be hosting in March. I made 50 of them and I even have them done ahead of time. As a Design Team member I made these as a small gift to the participants. The idea grew from a technique I saw from Tim Holtz - Yes I know I mention him all the time, but I love his work and he teaches such great techniques and has such great products. I just hope everyone will enjoy getting them.

Skinny Saturday

The theme for Skinny Saturday this week is Sitting Pretty - This is a Post Card that I printed out from a new CD from Tim Holtz - Distressables - Elements. I added brown and dark red matting to the picture, a little ribbon and the buttons. Thanks for taking a look.

New Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I have been working on over the last few days

This is a birthday card for the head of the Accounting Department, yes my boss. We make a big deal with birthdays, we decorate that persons area for the day, go out to lunch and have a yummy desert of the birthday persons choice. It makes for a fun day. There are ten of us in the department and I do cards for everyone.

The post card for this one is from Distressables Elements CD from Tim Holtz.

This card will be going to a friend at Send Love Today. The papers and butterfly are from K & Co and the beautiful Lace flowers are from Prima, which I got at Memoryvilla.com. I added glitter glue to the design that was on the paper.

Created By Hand Challenge

I took a class yesterday at my local stamping store A Small Cleverness using StampScapes stampes and techniques and I am so pleased with one of the cards that I am putting it into this challenge:

The two images were stamped with Black Staz-On ink onto Glossy cardstock. To get the streaking a light Aqua stamp pad was slid across the paper. A wave stamp was added in a Med Blue. Then layer by layer three different blues, and a purple were added using a ColorBloc Stylis to give all the different depths of color. All inks were from Marvy.

Send Love Today

Here are a couple of cards that I have done for Send Love Today. This is an orginazation that sends cards weekly to Brain Cancer Patients.

This was made with a med green cardstock from Bazill and a piece of coordinating striped paper. the stamps are from a new paper from Tim Holtz, I cut them out and matted them on small bits of paper. For the Dream square I used a piece of velumn, used a few drops of alochol ink in rust, yellow and green. I kind of spread them around and then put Blending Solution on my Blending tool and dabbed that around. I stamped Dream with Staz-On Jet Black ink.

For this card I used this paper from Prima- the Iron Orchard collection added a brown satin ribbon with another cream ribbon on top of that. The words and sayings are from 7 Qypsies and I added Diamond Glaze to them to ad depth to the design.

New Design - New Cards

I have a few days off from work so I wanted to take the time to get my site updated and add things that are important to me.

I have been busy making cards this week for a friend at work, here is a birthday card. The papers, flowers and butterfly (3-D) are all from K & Company, the stamp is ages old and I don't know who it's by, I embossed it with Tea Dyed Embossing powder from Ranger, Tim Holtz.

She also wanted a very simple sympathy card and this is what I came up with: With this one I just used a sheet of scrapbooking paper and added Stickles glitter glue in Lavender and copper.

The Weekend

I spent most of Saturday morning orginizing Ribbons. I have this wonderful Ribbon Tote, all the sides are a clear plastic and full of holes to pull the ribbons through. I really love it because I can keep it near my work space and see all the different ones I have. I use this for most of my smaller fancy ribbons.

For the plain 1/8" and 1/4 " ribbons I have made hangers by cutting one end slipping on the rolls of ribbon and taping it back together with duct tape. This works really well, except if you have cats that want to play with the hanging ribbons. When I'm not in the room I try and keep the door shut for safe keeping.

Sunday - I'm working on a couple of cards today and I have added a card I did last week, all of the pictures come from a Collage Sheet by Mary Marta, and the JOY is Grungeboard, by Tim Holtz, painted with Worn Lipstick Crackle paint - all itmes are available at http://www.memoryvilla.com/.
